CCMS – Subscription Series


Twenty-eight chamber programmes across five cycles, plus four Advent concerts, offer a diverse selection of both local and internationally renowned ensembles. Curated performances by distinguished artists have enlivened the year-round programme. This year, harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani will take on this role. Other standout names in the chamber season include Josef Špaček, Alisa Weilerstein, the Lobkowicz Trio, and the Wihan Quartet.

To celebrate 130 years of the Czech Chamber Music Society, Series I launches with a concert featuring the same programme presented at the very first CCMS concert almost 130 years ago to the day. This series offers the most diverse programming ranging from the Renaissance to music written by composers living today.

Conductor, composer, double bass player and pianist – this season’s curator Petr Popelka can claim all these titles and will showcase the many facets of his artistry to Czech Chamber Music Society audiences this year. Series II launches with Popelka’s own Clarinet Quintet and the fourth concert in the series will feature him as double bassist.

This is the fifth edition of the Recital Series as part of the Czech Chamber Music Society’s wider season. Despite not running for long, the series has already hosted some of the top solo performers in the world and for this jubilee 130th season, it will be no different.

Once again, this year, audiences are invited to join the Czech Chamber Music Society for its Morning Concerts at the Martinů Hall located in the Academy of Performing Arts (AMU) in Malá Strana. Combining the special location with an offering of programmes featuring diverse combinations of players, Morning Concerts are known for their unique atmosphere.
