After the resounding success the Czech Philharmonic enjoyed at Carnegie Hall in December, the orchestra is embarking on another journey. Under the baton of Chief Conductor Semyon Bychkov, the ensemble will perform two residency concerts in Vienna, London, and Paris, complemented by an evening in Amsterdam and Bruges.

And what’s on the programme? Audiences can look forward to works by Dmitri Shostakovich, which Bychkov has prepared with the orchestra in honor of the 50th anniversary of the composer’s passing. The selection includes the Fifth Symphony and the Cello Concerto, performed by British cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason. In Mozart’s Concerto for Two Pianos, the renowned duo Katia and Marielle Labèque will take the stage. The final piece accompanying the orchestra on its spring tour is Mahler’s Fifth Symphony.
