He studied at the Brno Conservatory and graduated from the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno (Czech Republic) in Ladislav Kyselák’s class. He has developed his skills in many chamber ensembles focusing on music from the Renaissance to contemporary compositions. He was the leader of the viola section of the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra in 1997-2005. He has been a member of the Apollon String Quartet for twenty years and played over 800 concerts with the ensemble both in the Czech Republic and abroad. They have recorded 15 CDs and did dozens of recordings for the Czech Radio, Czech TV and many foreign companies.

He occasionally performs as a soloist, both in concerts and in the studio, regularly collaborating with the Czech Radio. His debut CD “Viola Incognita” was released in 2007 and he recorded the complete viola duets by Karel Stamic with Ladislav Kyselák in 2012.

He was named the laureate of the international competition Beethoven’s Hradec in 1994, won the scholarship of the Czech Musical Fund Foundation and the Leoš Janáček Award for exceptional study results. He loves Dimitri Shostakovich’s music and likes to spend his free time with his family in the country.
