He started playing the piano at the age of seven and the double bass aged ten. He studied at the Prague Conservatory in 1985–1991 with Professor Václav Fuka and the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in 1992–1995 with Professor Jiří Hudec. He joined the Talich Chamber Orchestra in 1993 and played in the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra in 1996–2012.
