He started playing the violin at the age of five. His first teacher was Věra Dostálová at the Music School Žerotín in Olomouc and he later continued with Ivan Hřebabetzký, the concertmaster of the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra. He studied at the Prague Conservatory with Professor Jaroslav Foltýn and graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in the class of Professor Václav Snítil. Besides his studies, he developed his skills in private lessons with Franco Gulli in Bloomington (USA) and at summer courses in Italy (Riva del Garda) and the USA (Greensboro).
