Orchestral Academy – Trumpet

The Czech Philharmonic and its Chief Conductor and Music Director Semyon Bychkov announce an audition for the Orchestral Academy for the period from 1st September 2025 to 30th June 2027 in the trumpet section.

Application deadline: 24th February 2025
Audition date and place: 4th April 2025, Rudolfinum, Praha

The opportunity to broaden their education and gain valuable experience in the academy of the first Czech orchestra is especially available to students and graduates of secondary and higher music schools, both from the Czech Republic and abroad.

To apply, please fill in the application form and attach your structured CV and a copy of your diploma or confirmation of the ongoing study.

Solo piece:

J. Haydn: Concerto for Trumpet E-flat major, Hob. Vlle:1, 1st and 2nd mov.

Orchestral excerpts:

J. Suk: Towards a New Life, festive march, Op. 35c
A. Dvořak: Symphony No. 8 G major, Op. 88
A. Dvořák: Symphony No. 9 E minor, Op. 95
G. Mahler: Symphony No. 5 C-sharp minor
I. Stravinsky: Petrushka
N. Rimsky-Korsakov: Scheherazade, symphonic suite, Op. 35
A. Dvořák: Slavonic Dance No. 4 F major
A. Dvořák: Slavonic Dance No. 9 B major

You can apply for the audition until 24 February 2025.

Students between the ages of 18 and 26 (decisive is the age on the day of the audition) may apply to the Orchestral Academy.
