This educational programme is based on the fate of Josef Toufar, who was tortured to death by Communist State Security officers in 1950.

The evening programme is intended for the general public. Together with musicians and actors, audience members will enter into the drama of the life of Josef Toufar, the fateful events of 1949-1950, and the man's final days (including the subsequent investigation). The production consists of music by Slavomír Hořínka and a script by Jana Franková based on Miloš Doležal's books As If We Were to Die Today and A Step into the Dark Night.

After the programme, we will gather for discussion with participants in the production.

The programme is based on a musical part but also on a spoken word that will be given in Czech language only. The programme will not be supplied with English subtitles.
