Subscription Series A

The programming for Series A covers a broad range of history from Bach to Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Dvořák, Debussy, and Mahler, then on to Weill and two world premieres. Besides appearances by chief conductor Semyon Bychkov, Simon Rattle, and Tomáš Netopil and the returns of several other performers, two artists will be making their debuts.

The programme of premieres will feature cellist Alisa Weilerstein in a concerto dedicated to her by Richard Blackford, and Jiří Teml’s commissioned composition Labyrinth of Memory will also receive its first performance. The performance of the great Mass in B Minor by Johann Sebastian Bach will be a special event, as will the concert performance of Kurt Weill’s one-act opera The Seven Deadly Sins. We are looking forward not only to already familiar artists, but also the conductor Nathalie Stutzmann and the Australian pianist Kristian Bezuidenhout.
