Subscription Series I

Chamber Series I opens with a star-studded trio: Joshua Bell, Steven Isserlis and Evgeny Kissin. Later highlights include the Alinde Quintet, season curator Mahan Esfahani, and the Czech Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra with Nicholas Kraemer in a Baroque finale.

Winners of the ARD Competition in Munich, the Czech ensemble Alinde Quintet, will appear later in the season. The series embraces less conventional instrumentations, including Petr Wittich’s musical setting of The Little Prince for strings, winds and percussion. A special project devoted to Bohuslav Martinů brings together the Martinů Voices and the Bennewitz Quartet. Season curator Mahan Esfahani presents the second volume of Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier, and the series concludes with a tribute to the Baroque, featuring the Czech Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra under the baton of early music specialist Nicholas Kraemer, performing Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos and more.
