The Czech Philharmonic and its Chief Conductor and Music Director Semyon Bychkov announce an audition for the position of
2nd Trumpet. The position is offered on a full-time basis starting on 1 January 2025.

Audition repertoire
Pre-selection video recordings:
(to be sent with the application, recorded with accompaniment):
1. J. Haydn: Trumpet Concerto in E-flat major, 1st and 2nd movement
&
2. a 20th century piece of world repertoire of your own choice
1st Round (anonymous):
1. J. Haydn: Trumpet Concerto in E-flat major, 1st and 2nd movement
(required playing the piston trumpet in B)
2. Orchestral parts (selected excerpts):
- A. Dvořák: Slavonic dance No. 1, Op. 72
- A. Dvořák: Symphony No. 8, 2nd and 4th movement
- N. Rimskij-Korsakov: Scheherazade, 4th movement
- G. Mahler: Symphony No. 1, 4th movement
2nd Round (non-anonymous):
1. P. Hindemith: Sonata for trumpet and piano (1st movement)

How the audition works
All audition applicants must complete an application form, which includes links to video recordings of the prescribed tracks, by the due date. From the applications received, the selection committee will select applicants with the appropriate level of performance, experience and education and send them an invitation to audition.
